Wedding Day Tips Advice

Your wedding day is an amazing occasion — and it’s fast approaching! With that in mind, I’d love to share a few tips and bits of advice to help everything run as smoothly as possible. I always like to gently remind couples about the time needed to photograph or film your special day. To capture beautiful memories, professional photographers and videographers need a little breathing space — usually around an hour and a half between the end of the ceremony and your sit-down meal (or speeches, if those come first). Please remember to factor in any travel time too, such as getting from the church to the venue. The key is to allow enough relaxed time after the ceremony before the wedding breakfast begins. Your venue can help you plan this in advance. We want your day to feel fun, easy-going, and stress-free!

Helpful Tips & Advice

To help everything flow beautifully on the day, here are a few simple things that really make a difference. (These may vary slightly depending on your chosen package.)

During bridal preparations:

  • Try to keep the room bright with natural light and well ventilated.

  • If possible, remove labels and tags from the dress, jewellery, shoes, perfume, and any items being photographed.

  • Placing these items in a separate, well-lit room near a window (ideally south-facing) works wonderfully for photos.

  • We know mornings can be busy, but keeping clutter to a minimum helps create cleaner, more beautiful images.

These little touches save time — and give us more opportunity to capture lovely natural moments.

Bride prep photos are done efficiently so you can get back to mingling and enjoying the excitement. Once finished, we’ll step out and prepare for bridal portraits later (time permitting).

A great time-saving tip is to ask your hair and makeup artist to get the bride ready first, before the bridesmaids. This really helps avoid last-minute rushing. Ideally, the bride should be ready about 30 minutes before the photographer leaves to meet the groom and groomsmen. (Don’t worry if timings shift — portraits can always be done later.)

The ceremony will be covered as guided by the church or venue’s rules.

Group photos will usually be taken outdoors with the main bridal party. Of course, if anyone prefers not to be in photos, their wishes will always be respected.

And most importantly — have fun! 🥂

Enjoy getting pampered, sip some bubbly, laugh lots, and soak in every moment. The most beautiful photos come when you’re relaxed and enjoying yourselves. Your wedding day is all about you — we’re just there to capture the magic.

If everyone plays their part, it’s sure to be a truly wonderful day for all. And if you have any questions or concerns at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re always happy to help!
